“Flush Fitting” Parking Sensors:
“Push through” Parking Sensors:
Most commonly used throughout the trade. Once we have aligned and drilled the bumper holes the sensor is clipped into the bumper from the outside. We only use top brands like Meta, Scorpion and Cobra sensors which have a very small lip giving a very discreet fitting. Please see photo of the black Ford Kuga where we fitted colour coded audible parking sensors into the rear bumper.
The external diameter is 22mm.
Integration to a factory radio display:
We are also able to integrate factory fitted radio displays and sometimes audio systems to give a real OE level parking product. We can integrate with most modern Volkswagen systems. This radio system is from a VW Passat with a RNS510 and retrofitted front and rear parking sensors.
Generally factory coding is required which is completed in house.
Parking Sensor Installation:
Most parking systems require the removal of the vehicles bumper, this is more so the case for front park assist. Our colour coding service is completed by a local bodyshop and will be ready before the day of your installation.
Other than the sensors fitted neatly into the bumper the only other parts you may see after installation will be a Piezo buzzer (we prefer to install behind a panel) or the dashboard display. The rear parking systems are automatically operated when you put the vehicle into reverse gear. Front parking sensors can be operated via a dashboard mounted switch or through a special timer relay which activates automatically for 30 seconds every time the reverse gear is selected. A basis rear PDC install can take from 1.5 hours however a full front/rear fitment into a factory visual display will generally take most of the day.
