2007 Porsche Boxster 987.1 Radio Upgrade and Reversing Camera retrofit.
The Porsche arrived with the very basic CDR-24 and entry level speakers. It left us with a Kenwood DMX6523, a 2025 infotainment system, upgraded Focal front component speakers and a reversing camera. A MASSIVE upgrade!
Everything has been installed at our workshop in Bristol on the same day.
2012 Porsche Boxster 981 Parking Sensors installed into the rear bumper.
We have used Vodafone Automotive flush mounted sensor eyes mounted into the original Porsche locations which are marked behind the bumper.
We also offer reversing cameras and Apple CarPlay / Android Auto upgrades via the PCM 3.1 NAV radios.
2013 Porsche Boxster 981 Radio Upgrade.
We removed the dated Porsche CDR31 radio and replaced it with a 9″ Pioneer SPH-DA97DAB. A brand new modern multimedia centre with wireless Apple CarPlay , wireless Android Auto and DAB+.
We retained the Porsche steering wheel functions to operate with the new Pioneer radio as well as installing a reversing camera, mounted centrally and just above the number plate.
If your Porsche has the PCM and/or Bose we can still offer this same radio upgrade.
Also Suitable for Porsche Cayman models.
Porsche Boxster 981 installed with CarPlay & Android Auto
2013 Porsche Boxster 981 installed with CarPlay & Android Auto using the Porsche PCM 3.1. This upgrade gives wired and wireless CarPlay and Android Auto functions using the PCM 3.1 radio. All original Porsche radio functions and features are retained (including rear camera).
If you do not have a factory reversing camera we can add install this a camera as part of the package.
Our system is compatible with all Porsche models with PCM 3.1 and NAV button. Porsche Cayman, Porsche 911, Porsche Macan and Porsche Boxster.
This type of installation takes around half a day at our workshop in Bristol, UK.
Porsche 987 Boxster-S which had the Porsche PCM2.1 and ASK amplified audio was installed with a Kenwood dmx8019dabs wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto radio. We retained the full function of the Porsche amplifier and steering wheel controls.
We also installed Vodafone Automotive rear parking sensors, they are flush mounted into the original Porsche mounting locations and colour coded to the body.
2008
2007 Porsche Boxster S (987.1 chassis) installed with the new Pioneer SPH-DA160DAB multimedia system. This Porsche had the CDR24 installed without the full BOSE speaker package (although still amplified). We removed the Porsche radio and installed a double din Pioneer system offering DAB, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functions.
2001 Porsche Boxster S (986 chassis) having its Porsche CDR-22 radio removed, old Parrot bluetooth removed then dash converted and shuffled around to accommodate a new Pioneer SPH-DA230DAB Apple CarPlay and Android Auto system. This model only came with 2 dash speakers so we have installed Focal speakers into both front doors and upgraded the dash speakers to 10cm Kenwood’s. A Focal iBus Subwoofer behind the passenger seat gives much needed bass, fine adjustments can be made by tweaking the on dash level control. Our happy customer now has a modern multimedia system giving DAB radio, google maps and navigation, spotify and various other compatible applications. This set-up is exactly the same for the Porsche 911 996 models.
